Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Touch Shorts collects, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have over it.

Last updated: October 12, 2026 Effective: October 12, 2026 Applies to: the Touch Shorts mobile application and touchshorts.com

1. Introduction

Touch Shorts (“Touch Shorts”, “we”, “us” or “our”) operates the Touch Shorts mobile application and the website at touchshorts.com (together, the “Service”). Touch Shorts lets you discover and stream short-form drama and entertainment content.

This Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information when you download, access or use the Service. It applies to the Service only, and not to any third-party website, application or service that we do not control.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Service.

2. Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: information you give us, information collected automatically as you use the Service, and information we receive from third parties.

2.1 Information you provide to us

  • Account information. When you create an account, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, and login credentials. If you sign in with a third-party provider, we receive the account identifiers that provider shares with us.
  • Profile information. Information you choose to add, such as a profile picture, display name, preferred language, and content preferences.
  • Payment information. If you purchase a subscription, payment is processed by the app store or payment provider you use. We receive confirmation of the transaction and a transaction identifier, but we do not receive or store your full card number.
  • Communications. Information you send us, including support requests, feedback and survey responses.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device information. Device type, model, operating system and version, app version, language, time zone, and a device identifier (such as an advertising identifier or app-instance identifier where permitted by your device settings).
  • Network and technical data. IP address, mobile network or connection type, and general location derived from your IP address (typically city or region level).
  • Usage data. How you interact with the Service, including content you view, watch history, watch duration, searches, likes and follows, in-app navigation, session dates and times, and crash and diagnostic logs.

2.3 Information from third parties

  • App stores and payment providers, which confirm purchases and subscription status.
  • Sign-in providers, when you choose to link a third-party account.
  • Analytics, advertising and fraud-prevention partners, which may provide device-level or aggregated data to help us measure performance and detect abuse.

We do not ask for or require sensitive categories of personal information — such as health data, precise geolocation, biometric identifiers, or information about your racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation — in order to use the Service.

3. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate the Service, including creating and securing your account, streaming content, remembering your position in a series, and syncing your library across sessions.
  • Personalise your experience, including content recommendations, personalised feeds, and “continue watching” and “you may also like” features.
  • Process purchases and manage subscriptions, entitlements, renewals and refunds.
  • Communicate with you about the Service — service announcements, security alerts, and responses to your support requests. Where permitted, we may also send promotional messages, which you can opt out of at any time.
  • Improve and develop the Service, including analysing usage patterns and trends, measuring which features and content perform well, and testing new functionality.
  • Maintain safety and security, including detecting, preventing and responding to fraud, abuse, unauthorised access, and violations of our Terms of Service.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights, including responding to lawful requests and resolving disputes.

Where we rely on your consent for a specific use, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the limited circumstances described below:

  • Service providers. Vendors that perform services on our behalf — including cloud hosting, content delivery, analytics, payment processing, customer support, and fraud prevention — under contracts that restrict them to processing information on our instructions.
  • Advertising and measurement partners. Where permitted and, where required, with your consent, to deliver and measure advertising, including on third-party platforms. Depending on your location, some of this activity may be treated as “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under applicable law; see Section 10 for how to opt out.
  • Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganisation or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
  • Legal and safety. Where we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with law or legal process, protect the rights, property or safety of Touch Shorts, our users or the public, or investigate and prevent fraud or security issues.
  • With your direction. Where you ask us to share information, for example when you use a social sharing feature.

We may also share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage, software development kits and device identifiers in the app) to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, understand how the Service is used, and measure the effectiveness of our marketing.

Necessary cookies are required for the Service to function and cannot be switched off. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies, and you can change or withdraw that consent at any time through the cookie preferences available on the website. You can also control cookies through your browser settings and limit ad tracking through your device’s privacy settings.

Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality and performance of the Service.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

  • Account information is retained while your account is active and for a limited period afterwards, so that you can restore your account and preferences.
  • Usage and watch history is retained for as long as needed to personalise your experience and improve the Service, and is then deleted or de-identified.
  • Transaction records are retained for the period required by applicable tax, accounting and consumer-protection law.
  • Support correspondence is retained for a reasonable period in order to resolve current and follow-up issues.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or irreversibly de-identify it. Where deletion is not immediately possible (for example, because information is held in backup archives), we isolate it and delete it as soon as technically feasible.

8. How we protect information

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. These measures include:

  • Encryption of data in transit (such as TLS) and, where appropriate, at rest;
  • Access controls, authentication requirements and the principle of least privilege for personnel and systems;
  • Regular security assessments, monitoring and vulnerability management;
  • Secure development, configuration and data-storage practices.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your account credentials confidential and notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

9. International data transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than the one in which you live, including countries whose data-protection laws differ from those of your jurisdiction. Where we transfer personal information internationally, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection, such as relying on approved standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights in relation to your personal information:

  • Access — to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction — to have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected.
  • Deletion — to request that we delete your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Portability — to receive certain information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, or to have it transmitted to another controller where technically feasible.
  • Restriction and objection — to ask us to restrict processing, or to object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, to withdraw it at any time.
  • Opt out of marketing — to unsubscribe from promotional communications using the link in the message or through app settings. We will still send essential service messages.
  • Opt out of targeted advertising or “sharing” — where applicable, to direct us not to share personal information for targeted advertising, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information.
  • Non-discrimination — we will not deny you the Service, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of service because you exercised your privacy rights.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request, and an authorised agent may submit a request on your behalf where permitted by law. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

11. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children, and it is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13 (or such higher minimum age as required by the law of your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will take appropriate steps to delete that information.

12. Third-party services

The Service may include links to, integrations with, or content from third parties — for example, app stores, social platforms, and analytics or advertising services. These third parties operate under their own privacy policies and practices, which we do not control. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party service you use.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by other means before the changes take effect. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
